MODERN HERITAGE at MANOR BY THE LAKE
When our couple travelled from Texas for their Cotswolds wedding at Manor by the Lake, they brought the heat with them, celebrating on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. Working alongside Corrie from Soirée Studio, the brief was to balance the heritage of the venue with clean, contemporary styling. To complement the ornate architecture of the manor, we chose a rich palette of deep burgundy, raspberry, and matcha green, weaving in subtle local details throughout, including the traditional Cheltenham swan emblem.
Instead of a classic English country garden aesthetic, we decided to work entirely without foliage. Stripping away the greenery meant every stem had to hold its own. We used traditional silver candelabras for the centrepieces to honour the grandeur of the room, styling them with sculptured, modern florals. We brought together calla lilies, anthuriums, cascading amaranthus, and Limelight hydrangeas alongside soft Quicksand and Playa Blanca roses. The contrast between the antique silver and the clean floral silhouettes gave the tables a fresh, architectural feel while sitting naturally within the historic space.
